Kenya: Al-Shabab will kill President Obama’s grandmother
NAIROBI (RBC) Kenya security officials confirmed that security of president Barack Obama’s grandmother Sarah Obama in Kenya tightened after security threats found, media reports.
“We have received reports of that Al-Shabab plans to attack the home of Mama Sarah in Kolego,” local police officer Stephen Cheteka told reporters in Nairobi.
Cheteka said that government sent armed forces for the protection of Obama’s grandmother Sarah Obama, originally a Kenyan citizen.
But Sarah Obama did not give any details about her security and whether any danger faces her. Kenyan officials were quoted as saying that Obama administration were informed the case.
“Of course the Al-Shabab may want to revenge on this old lady because her son [Obama] is the president of U.S who killed Osama Bin Ladin,” Hassan Ali Somalia analyst told RBC Radio in Mogadishu.
On Wednesday senior Al-Shabab commander vowed to revenge on U.S And AMISOM troops in Mogadishu asfter the death of al-Qaeda top leader Sheikh Osama Bin Ladin.
“They are the enemies of Islam U.S, Somalia government TFG and AMISOM and we shall make them regret,” Sheikh Mohamed Kalaf told reporters in a press conference in Mogadishu.
Meanwhile Somalia government announced state of high alert following intelligence information about possible attacks from Al-Shabab rebels in Somalia.
